Deck Building

Decks & Outdoor

A Deck That Holds Up Where It Counts — Underneath.

New decks, rebuilds, railings, and multi-level structures across San Diego County — designed for sun, salt air, and years of real use, with the framing and connections that decide whether a deck lasts built right from the footings up.

What “Done Right” Looks Like in a Deck

A deck lives or dies on the parts you stop seeing once the boards go down. How the ledger attaches to the house and sheds water, instead of trapping it against the framing. Footings sized and set for the soil and the load they carry. Fasteners and flashing chosen for coastal air, not just what’s in the bin.

Get those right and a deck shrugs off a decade of sun and salt. Get them wrong and no amount of nice decking on top will save it. That hidden structure is where we spend our attention, because it’s what decides whether you’re enjoying the deck in ten years or rebuilding it.

How It Works

  1. Site visit — we assess your yard, existing structure (if any), grade, and how you plan to use the space.
  2. Detailed scope — footings, framing, decking material, railings, and any code-required details, documented.
  3. Clear proposal — the full scope and a payment schedule, set before any ground is broken.
  4. The build — built from footings through final decking and railings, by our own crew.

Common Questions

Do decks require a permit in San Diego County?

Most new decks and significant rebuilds do, especially where structural framing, footings, or railings are involved. We handle permitting as part of your proposal and build timeline.

How long does a deck build take?

A standard deck typically runs one to a few weeks depending on size, material, and site conditions. Your proposal includes a realistic schedule specific to your project.

How disruptive is deck construction to my yard and home?

Deck work is largely contained to the build area. We keep material staging organized, protect surrounding landscaping where possible, and clean the site daily.

Can you replace an old deck on the same footprint, or rebuild it larger?

Both are common. We assess the existing footings and framing during the site visit and scope the rebuild — same footprint or expanded — flagging anything that needs to be brought up to current code.

Is the work warranted?

Yes — our workmanship comes with a written warranty, spelled out in your proposal before you sign. If something we built isn’t right, we make it right.
